மரத்திற்கும் மறவனுக்கும் இடையில் ஒரு சிலேடை.

first of all 'சிலேடை' means a song or poem tat tells abt 2 things simultaneously.. in short double-meaning (but in good sense :))..
here i've compared a tree wit a person of great valour(மறவன்)- a soldier, a king - watever u may call..
in d first line 'கலமேந்தி களங்கள் பார்த்தான்'
'கலம்' means war-equipments, it also means vessel.(here vessels used by farmers to carry food)
'களம்' means battle-field, also it means farm-fields.. fields in general..
d first line means - tree holds the vessels hung by farmers in front of farm-fields.. likewise a soldier carries arms in war-fields..
line 2 - 'புலம்' means land..
both of 'em help in holding land..
i think meaning of line-3,4 are obvious..
line 5 - 'குடை' - a ruler's reign is often marked by 'kireedom', 'venkotra kudai' n 'chengol'.. kudai- also means shelter(provided by tree)..
rest is obvious..
line 6 - 'கொடிகள்'- has 4 meanings - creepers, ropes tied to dry cloths, flags, gals (வஞ்சிக்கொடி, கொடி இடையாள்)..
first 2 corresponds to tree.. n d next 2 relates to a veeran..
lines 7 - 10 are easy.. i guess
